Planning My Life

With summer starting, many of the big planner companies have launched their new planners for the 2016 school year. I have always used a planner. From back in Elementary  School when they give them to you for free to college where life gets a tad bit more busy. I used to get my planners from Target but after a while I just got tired of the binding coming apart. So I made a leap. And that leap was to buy an Erin Condren LifePlanner. These planner are kind of expensive (for a planner that is) but to me it was worth the cost. I choose to get a two year one and I am so glad I did!

I love to decorate the weeks, because for me if I don’t decorate the planner I will never use it lol. I got my planner in the vertical layout with the three different sections. I label the sections Personal, School, and To Do. For my stickers I look to Pinterest for some free stickers and then Etsy for different shops. I love to print them off and then use my Xyron sticker maker from Michaels to turn them into stickers. I’ll post some pictures of some previous decorated layouts. Here’s a link to see all the planners that Erin Condren.

The Selection Series by Kiera Cass

Hello friends! This post is going to be about one of my favorite book series; The Selection series by Kiera Cass. I am doing this post because last month the final book, The Crown, came out. I have been reading this series for like three years. I started way back when I was a senior in high school. Let me just say this…these books rock! It is like the Bachelor TV show with these.

The plot goes kind of like this (I wont give away any spoilers now..).  The books take place in a future time where there is no longer a United States of America. Instead the countries of Canada, United States, Mexico, and all the countries in Central America have come together to form Illéa; with the capital in Angeles (its in LA people). Anyway, in this world there is a caste system with ones at the top and eights at the bottom. Each caste performs a certain job. Like fives are your performers are artists. Sixes are the maids and helpers and so on. The top of the chain, ones, are only for the royal family (yes we went back to a monarchy).

The time has come for the current prince, Prince Maxon, to take a bride. Now the princess of Illéa marry the men from another country, while the princes host a selection. The selection is where young laddies across the country enter to be chosen to come to the palace and for a chance to marry the prince. People, it is the Bachelor that is what it is. And I love it. The first three books are about Prince Maxon’s selection. The last two are about his daughter, Eadlyn’s selection (rules get broke when Prince Maxon becomes King and now girls can have their own selection).

* can we just take a moment to appricate these cover designs? I mean look at them! So pretty*

OKAY, NOW IT IS TIME FOR SPOILERS!!  If you haven’t read them stop now!

Everyone good? Okay. Let me just say that I love how Maxon acts around America. Like he would end the whole thing if she would just say yes. I also love how America was the one that Maxon got to pick in the beginning versus the other women were picked by his dad and advisors. I also loved how their was so much spirit in America. Like she spoke her mind, she thought of the people living in Illéa and what needed to be done to help them. I did not like Aspen. He was trouble! Why was he there? And why did America sneak off to go be with him? What did he bring to the table? Maxon carried about America, he carried about her safety and her happiness. To me, Aspen just looked like a jealous ex-boyfriend who couldn’t except the fact that his ex had moved on.

Now for The Heir and The Crown. Maxon and America’s daughter is b*tch! She treats the men so badly in the first one. She thinks she is better than everyone because she is going to be queen some day. She is no Jojo in todays current Bachelorette. It’s like, we get it girl your going to be queen! Now stop acting like your better then those men! While reading her books and the books in the Happily Ever After: Companion to the Selection Series, I felt that Eadlyn looked like Queen Amberly but acted like King Clarkson. If that makes any sense. And in The Heir I loved the relationship between Kile and Eadlyn was perfect. I loved those two! I wanted them to get together. But as we all see in The Crown that doesn’t happen!!! She picks Eikko! This guy wasn’t even in the selection! He was a translator! Not a contestant! Andy poor Kile said he would give up traveling to be with her because he loves her! It was all perfect, and then Eikko had to go and ruin it. I’m still bitter bout that. I just feel like Eikko is a big pushover and Eadlyn needs someone to come and take charge, order her around, make her world spin a tad. She is going to be queen, at the end of the day her husband needs to make some orders for her.

Anyway that is the end of this very long rant on one of my favorite book series of all time. I hope you all enjoyed it and sorry it was SO long!

New Summer, New Start

Hello everyone! Today is June 2, which to me means the start of summer! Now I know that summer doesn’t really start until June 20 but that seems so late! Like summer is half way over by then. So, this is my ‘official’ start of summer.

I feel like with every season change, there is this idea of a new leaf. People try new things with the start of every season. Or they change up their life a little bit. This past spring, I cleaned out my closet and started a new style. I went from a girly/laid back/ causal style to a girly/preppy look. And to be honest the girly/preppy look is way more me.

This summer I am adding some things to my daily routine that I want to become habits. For example, every morning I want to spend some time doing yoga. I know it sounds crazy. But I have some help. I downloaded two apps. One called Productive and the other called Daily Yoga.

The Productive app helps me keep track of things that I want to become habits. I can make a list of them and set it to when I want to do each item (morning, afternoon, evening, or any time of day). The app then keeps track of the days that I actually did each item. This app really helps me stay on track. I am currently using it not only for the yoga but also for a weekly Bible reading.

The next app is Daily Yoga. I am loving this app. There are so many different programs that you can download that then have a yoga session for each day. For example, right now I am doing the program called ’12-Day Beginner Tour’. This program is set for 12 days or 12 sessions each one lasting 10 minutes, which is perfect for the morning. I am loving how relaxing I feel and the how all the different poses really stretch out my body. This is a great way to start your day.

What new things to you want to add to your day this summer? Comment below! Let’s help each other reach our goals.

Lastly, I was going through Pinterest the other day and saw this great post about a list of things to accomplish in June! It is a list of 18 things to do in June. The list is called June Life List and is by Paper&Glam you can find it here. Now here is the best part. When you open the link, it looks like you have to buy it. But it literally cost ZERO DOLLARS! I am not kidding. Just put it in your cart and fill out a billing address. You don’t even have to put in any credit card info. The list is a automatic download. I looked around the website and it has one for May which is also free!! (Don’t you just love free stuff?) I am planning on printing this out and putting it in my planner, I want to do everything on this list!
